Two prominent alumni from the University of Cincinnati’s James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy returned to campus May 17, 2012, to receive high honors and give students insight into their specialty areas of pharmacy for career path consideration.
The visitors—Connie Jung, PhD (’00), acting associate director for policy and communications in the Office of Drug Security, Integrity and Recalls with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Kevin Burns, PharmD (’83), director of pharmacy services at Dearborn County Hospital—spent the day with faculty and staff, giving seminars on their professional lives after graduating from UC.
Their visit was part of UC’s annual tribute to distinguished alumni and coincided with Alumni Weekend, May 19-20. At a reception during their visit, Jung and Burns were recognized for their professional successes. Jung received the college’s Robert DeSalvo Award and Burns the Arthur Glasser Award. Included in the audience were past recipients Nicholas Barsan (‘80), Norman Dingeldein (‘58), Alan Kessler (‘72), Paul Lamping (‘55), Jerry Rucker (’78), Don Ruwe ('58), James L. Winkle ('58) and J. Richard Wuest ('58).
