Brian Adams, MD, MPH
Adams Named Chair of Dermatology
Brian Adams, MD, MPH, has been approved by the UC Board of Trustees as the permanent chair of the UC Department of Dermatology. He also will hold the Drs. Diya F. Mutasim & Hugh M. Gloster Jr. & Harry L. Claassen Endowed Chair of Dermatology. Adams has served as interim chair of the department since Jan. 1, 2013.
He joined the faculty of the department in 1999, after completing his internship and residency at the UC College of Medicine.
He also serves as director of dermatology for the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and leads the UC dermatology department’s sports dermatology clinic and its residency program.
He is the official dermatologist for the Women’s Tennis Association and a member of several national committees related to sports medicine and dermatology.

Jason Itri, MD, PhD
Itri Joins Radiology as Vice Chair of Operations
Jason Itri, MD, PhD, has joined the Department of Radiology as vice chair of operations and the newest member of the department’s abdominal imaging section.
Itri comes to UC from the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as director of quality and safety. He completed his radiology residency, where he served as chief resident, and abdominal imaging fellowship, where he was chief fellow, at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Penn Radiology Residency Baum-Laufer Service Excellence Award, the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award and the University of Pennsylvania Patient Safety Advocate Award.
Marilyn Schapira, MD, MPH
CCTST Grand Rounds July 18
The next CCTST Grand Rounds will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, in MSB 3351.
Marilyn Schapira, MD, MPH, co-director of the Cancer Control and Outcomes Program at the Abramson Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania, will discuss, "Communicating Scientific Evidence to Patients: Should Strategies be Tailored to Level of Health Numeracy?”
