Sehgal Accepted Into Leadership Program
Mandi Sehgal, MD, assistant professor of family medicine, has been accepted into the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamberís C-Change leadership program for young professionals. The 10-month program will allow Sehgal to network with other professionals and develop a plan to help improve the city. Applications Now Being Accepted forShowcase 2008
Exhibit applications are now being accepted for Showcase 2008. All UC researchers are invited to apply to have their research displayed during the Friday, March 7, 2008, event in Tangeman University Center. Showcase 2008 focuses on UCís applied research and technology and how it translates into commercialization opportunities, as well as proven and potential partnerships for economic growth. Faculty Win URC Grants
Four faculty members have been awarded Faculty Research Support Grants from the University Research Council (URC). They are David Fleck, PhD, psychiatry, Alexey Porollo, PhD, environmental health, Zhenyu Qin, MD, PhD, cardiovascular diseases, and Jinsong Zhang, PhD, cell and cancer biology. The URC funded nearly one-third of the 53 applications received for a total of more than $107,000.
The Academic Health Center is recruiting singers to join the 2008 Martin Luther King Choir. The group will perform at the 36th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Ceremony to be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in Kresge Auditorium. No experience is needed.
